04/22/2018 - National Tryout - Grand Rapids, MI Charlie is a strong C/SS prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Charlie shows efficient footwork and gains ground when blocking balls in the dirt. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws to 2B. Charlie can improve as a C by setting up in a lower stance. In the field, Charlie centers the ball in the middle of his body and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistently on-line to his target. Charlie can improve as a SS by quickening his footwork to field. With three more years to develop, Charlie has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
