09/28/2022 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2023) Charlie did not disappoint at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. On the mound, his excellent poise and aggressiveness are a winning combo. In his 3 inning outing, he struck out 9 of 15 batters giving up only one hit with no walks. His ability to jump-ahead of hitters was consistent with command of his three-pitch mix (FB, CB, CHG). As he gains more physical strength, we will see Charlie's stock value on the mound skyrocket. He also performed in the OF getting good reads, creating angles and flashing accuracy to his target. At the plate, he can see the ball deep into the zone due to his late bat whip. In addition to all of the aforementioned, we enjoyed coaching Charlie. He comes to the field ready with energy and a good feel for the game. He has a bright future as he marches closer to his senior campaign at Chaminade.

03/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA In 3 short months, Charlie has improved in almost every category that we measure at our workouts. First and foremost, he is an athlete who shows ability on the mound, in the outfield AND at the plate. In the outfield, he flashes fluidity in his footwork, gets behind the ball well and throws with accuracy to his target. At the plate, he was compact to the ball with an overall smoothness in the proceedings. His 127 pound frame managed to consistently smoke balls and almost left the yard on one swing hitting the base of the wall topping out at 85mph exit velocity. On the mound, his fastball continuously filled up the strike zone topping at 77mph with cut action. Charlie throws his curveball at 66-67mph with gradual break and a high volume of strikes while his change-up was 70-71mph and flashed deception due to maintaining his fastball arm speed. He gets extension on every pitch and is repeatable with his delivery. As he continues to strengthen his body, we expect big things from Charlie as he moves a little closer to college baseball.

12/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Charlie is a LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with strength present. A LHP that projects on the mound. He consistently gets to his balance point which allows him to get his ball into a downhill plane. The arm action is loose and he gets proper stride length on each pitch. He flashed solid command of his three pitch mix (fastball, curveball, change-up). In addition to his mound abilities, he flashed a rhythmic swing at the plate. He hits the ball to all fields, has a line-drive approach and finishes his swing. Defensively, he makes the routine play in the outfield and displayed accuracy on his throws. As he continues to gain size, he should catch the eyes of college programs.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
