05/23/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Charlie is a SS/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. He shows off an impressive athletic skill set as well as a physical frame (6’2” 175 LBS) . Ran the 60-yard sprint in 6.70 seconds. In the field, he showed good footwork and the ability to work downhill towards the baseball. Fielded from a low position and worked through the baseball. Arm was loose and quick and his velos were up to 87 MPH. At the plate, he continued to impress. Showed an advanced approach with the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the park. Stayed in his legs well throughout the swing. Did a good job getting extension after contact. Showed good separation in his swing. On the mound, he showed a downhill pitch plane. Did a good job staying balanced and in rhythm throughout the delivery. All pitched came out of a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball was up to 84 MPH. Showed feel for a breaking ball at 67-69 MPH as well as a changeup at 68-70 MPH. Charlie is a good prospect that we hope to see again in the future.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
