07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Charlie is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Charlie shows fluid footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into a low, atheltic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. Charlie can improve defensively by long tossing to continue building up his arm strength. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact to all fields. Charlie can improve as a hitter by gaining more extension through contact. With five more years to develop, Charlie has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
