08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Chase continues to show improvements in his baseball tools. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.70 with throws showing accuracy. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work on getting down quicker. At the plate, he shows an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and he makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player.

12/28/2017 - Holiday Hitting Camp Strengths: - Fires Hips - Good Swing Path, Compact - Loose Hands Areas to Improve: - Working backside through the swing - Use lower half more to create more balance

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Chase is a hardworking C/SS prospect who has a versatile skill set and graduates in 2022. As a right-handed hitter, Chase has a tall setup with his weight on his heels. He tracks the ball and gets his lower half involved in his swing. Chase has a long swing path and consistently lands his barrel to the baseball. He has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Behind the plate, Chase has an effective setup and moves well in each direction laterally. He presents a low target and stays square to the pitcher. Chase has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate down to 2B and he is building arm strength. Overall, Chase plays the game the right way and has potential to improve his skill with development.

05/21/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Chase is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, he shows a square setup and tracks well. He tries to block low pitches in dirt as he stays directional towards his target. On the mound, this RHP gathers over the rubber and delivers from a 3/4 arm slot. He throws a 3-pitch mix as he separates on time and works in line towards home plate. On offense, Chase sets up square in the box. He swings on-plane through the zone as he creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Present low target
2. Develop soft hands
3. Quick exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Stronger frontside
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Improve bat speed
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
