07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Chase continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Range is a plus as reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and plays the game hard.

05/27/2018 - College PREP - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Chase is a lean, athletic OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.28. At the plate, he displays well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movement as he displays range. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He throws a slider that is harder with cutting action. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Chase has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
