01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Chase continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.32. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws display life, accuracy and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Chase has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

09/24/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Chase is a tall, lean outfielder with a projectable frame (6'2"/165) and a very good left-handed swing. He is loose and natural in the batter's box with a line drive stroke and a knack for finding the barrel. He is most comfortable gap-to-gap and looks to be a singles and doubles guy who is on base consistently. With rhythm and feel at the plate he went 1-3 in the game. Chase is solid in the outfield with an accurate arm and a confidence on ground balls. He profiles best in LF with a bat that should play at higher levels.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Chase is a solid LHH OF who continues to shine. Offensively, this lefty has a square/athletic setup with rhythm to load. He whips the barrel on a short/direct path and connects with some pop. He creates good extension through contact and hits line-drives to all parts of the field. He has good zone awareness and proved to be a tough out going 2 for 3 with 3 walks. In the OF, he works lightly on the balls of his feet and covers a ton of ground. He works behind the ball and plays through it well - gaining ground toward his target. Hanson has the skill-set of a special type of player. He has a bright future ahead of him.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Chase is an intriguing LHH OF that has a 6'2/180 lbs frame. Defensively, he moved with efficient footwork to make plays with a sure glove, and controlled his body to stay behind and through the ball to throw. He had loose actions and fluidity while attacking the ball aggressively, and hit his cutoff with a quick release. At the plate, the lefty showed decent balance and delivered the barrel down through the zone with good core rotation. He accelerated through the zone nicely, and as he implements more top hand involvement will hit more hard line-drives. All in all - Chase is an interesting follow that as the desirable left handed hitting stroke that pairs well with his sure outfield play.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
