Lateral movement is a plus potential in the MIF. Throws display accuracy but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path and show a feel for the barrel. Power numbers will continue to improve as he uses his lower half more.

08/04/2013 - College PREP - Columbus, OH
Chase is a 5'7"/150 lbs 2B that runs extremely well - 6.43 sixty. At second, he has quick/soft hands, good pre-pitch footwork and is aggressive coming to get ground balls. He has an accurate arm to throw and is very agile. Promoting hands further in front and cleaning up his backhand mechanics will improve his defense. Offensively, he has a spray approach, uses his lower half efficiently and is balanced throughout the swing. He has a clean swing path and with developed strength will see greater power numbers. In all, Chase projects well as a middle infielder at the next level that can put the ball in play and use his speed to pressure the defense.
