06/13/2024 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Chase is an athletic OF who is a prospect on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / easy actions. He shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) through his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (6.72 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying excellent hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with bat speed (88 mph exit velocity), leading to loud contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. Chase has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
