01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament An outstanding athlete with a strong build, this 2018 Centerfielder looks the part and performs. Chase is solid in all defensive aspects an outfielder needs. Great prep steps, proper alignment, a quick first step and great hands lead to a very solid Centerfielder. Covers a lot of ground, will make plays and make an impact defensively. An advanced hitter, Chase is athletic, short to the ball, balanced, uses the middle of the field and drives the ball off the barrel to all fields. Showcased college ready bat speed and the ability to make an impact collegiately right now.

02/12/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Chase is an intimidating presence on the field with an impressively, strong, athletic frame. He shows a devastating power/speed combo, running down balls in the outfield and stealing bases and showing big pop at the dish. He is athletic in the box with active hands to load and a strong stride with an incorporated lower half. His hands a very quick showing fast bat speed through the zone making hard contact gap to gap. In the outfield, his blazing speed allows him to show extensive range, as he also takes precise routes and angles to the ball. He fields with soft hands and plays through to gain momentum and throw accurately to his target to cut down runners. A long toss program will help shore up mechanics and add arm strength to make him a complete defender. Chase is a very exciting prospect who has a very high ceiling in the game.

10/19/2016 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Chase continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a solid player at the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.85. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground and shows big play potential in the OF. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, makes adjustments and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/07/2016 - College PREP - Lodi (Sacramento), CA Chase is hardworking outfield prospect with all the athleticism and speed to play any position in the outfield. His quick feet and raw speed give him the opportunity to make every play. Chase takes an aggressive approach, presents his glove, and plays through the baseball with a quick release. At the plate, Chase has a square, athletic stance with a firm front side. His rhythm and timing in combination with his bat speed and direct path through the zone produce hard, consistent contact to all fields. Chase can be a difference maker at the next level as his talents grow with his already polished mechanics.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
