01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Chase improved his foot speed at the event as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.15. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with zip across diamond but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 2 with 4 BB as he shows a solid eye and patient approach.

10/13/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Chase is a talented prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments during the Mid-Atlantic Hitting Camp. At the plate, Chase starts in a squared stance, and has a short stride. He hits off a firm front side, creates backside rotation with his lower half, and makes hard contact to all fields. Chase needs to continue to loosen his grip during his load and keep a quiet head. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and keeping his head down at contact will allow him to stay balanced throughout the swing. Chase has a high ceiling and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/16/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA Chase is an athletic and talented 2022 Utility prospect. At SS, Chase plays through his back hand and makes the routine play. Hes aggressive to the ball and has good footwork on double plays. In the OF, Chase is aggressive to the ball, tries to work behind fly balls, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing. At the plate, Chase starts in an athletic stance, gets his front foot down on time, and loads his hand back into the drive position. He stays connected throughout the swing, attacks the ball with his lower half, and makes hard contact to all fields. Chase will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/14/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Trenton, NJ Chase showed offensive and defensive improvements during his last workout in Trenton. At the plate, hitting and power grades improved to 40 and 42. Chase is a strong hitter with good bat speed and solid balance. He has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and he finds the barrel consistently. In the OF, Chase efficient footwork, he takes good routes to the ball, and his hands are firm. He makes the routine plays and has and throws with some accuracy to his target.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Chase continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At SS, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through more with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/08/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Chase is a SS/OF who will graduate in 2022. Defensively at SS, he hustles hard laterally and tries to get into a square fielding position on GB's. He comes up with a clean exchange and will make all of the routine plays. In the OF, he takes aggressive routes as he tracks down fly balls. He tries to work behind the ball and has a clean transfer to throw. With the stick, Chase sets up square in the box with fluid rhythm. He swings on a level path through the zone and drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
