01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Chase continues to show as a prospect at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At 2B, feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally (6.89 60 time) and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with on line carry across the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus through a line drive approach.

07/26/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Chase continues to show as a prospect on the baseball diamond. At the plate is where he continues to show best through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

05/12/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Justin (DFW), TX Chase is an athletic 2020 second baseman that can run well. (6.77 60 Time) At second base Chase shows off plus range and double play feeds. He works well to the ball and picks it well with quick clean exchanges. His throws across the diamond are online with carry. At the plate Chase sets up in open stance and has smooth rhythm. He keeps his balance centered with hands that work to get on plane fast and keeps the barrel in the zone for a long time making square contact with gap to gap power. As a 2020 and some time to develop, Chase shows to be an interesting second base prospect to follow.

02/17/2019 - College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Chase is an athletic 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.93. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but needs to present more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Chase has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
