01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Chayce continues to impress the Baseball Factory staff with his athleticism and defensive ability. At the UA AA PS event in Mesa, AZ, the 6'1/165 lbs catcher ran a 3.64 thirty, 6.83 sixty, and broad jumped 9'1. Behind the plate, he was athletic to sit and received with quiet hands. He had a quick exchange and threw with momentum to 2nd, flashing pops in the 2.0-2.1 range with his 84 mph raw velo. Offensively, he had a square setup and a controlled stride to get his body ready to hit. He rotated his core to help drive the barrel through contact and had a spray approach. Overall - Chayce looks to be in excellent shape as he enters this important Junior spring.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Chayce continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times were in the 2.02 range with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He plays with a ton of energy and shows the ability to handle a pitching staff with his receiving / blocking skills. At the plate, he continues to shine. Hands works inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. With 3 years to further develop, Chayce has a ton of potential and is a sure player to follow.

06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Chayce continues to show improvements in his baseball tools and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.15. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.03. Receiving / blocking skills are near a pro level as he shows off his athletic abilities. At the plate, he continues to shine. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone as he connects through a line drive path. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Chayce is a lean athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.16-2.26 with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. He displays an athletic setup with soft hands that stick balls in the zone, displaying a soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the dish. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he has an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. With 3 years to further develop, Chayce has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
