07/10/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Chayce is a 2024 3B/RHP who improved his skills during the Cape Cod Training and Competition. At 3B, he showed active feet and ability to make routine plays. He fields from a square fielding position with a low funnel. He gets rid of ball and throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 69mph. On the mound, he was unable to pitch due to an injury. We wish Chayce a speedy recovery and hope to see him at another event. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. Showed a controlled load and is centered at contact. He has a fast barrel through the hitting zone with a high finish. He hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during his round of BP. During the event, Chayce had an RBI triple and reached on an error. Overall, Chayce is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/05/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Chayce is an athletic 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around but needs to play through balls more with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 60-62 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Chayce has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
