12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic
Chaz is a 2023 SS/RHP out of Honolulu, HI who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. He's a team player who worked hard, hustled, and was coachable throughout his time in Arizona. At SS, he starts in an athletic position, with quick feet, and gets good reads off of the bat. He gets into an athletic/low fielding position, with hands out front, and has a 2-hand transfer. Accurate throws from an over-the-top arm slot and an arm velocity of 78mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance with loose/comfortable hands. Showed good barrel control with good extension through the baseball. Hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out and reached base 6 times with a double, a single, 3 walks, and reached on an error. On the mound, he works from the stretch exclusively. He gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. In the game, he worked 1 inning and showed a FB that topped out at 73mph and a 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth. He struck out 2 batters and didn't allow a hit. Chaz is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field with continued development.

Chaz is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame with some strength present and room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary SS shows good rhythm to his actions and a good pre-pitch routine. Good crossover step enables him to create good fielding angles and ability to play through the ball. He shows some softness in his hands and fields the ball out front with a good glove angle. Creates momentum on his throws with an arm velocity up to 75mph. Displayed ability to throw from multiple arm angles. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. He has clean mechanics and showed ability to repeat his delivery. He gathers over the rubber with a good rear hip coil and works to try and have a controlled landing. A 3 pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 72mph with late sinking action, an 11/5 shaped curveball, and a palm ball he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, he begins with an upright stance and even stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Short/direct barrel path, with good barrel control, and ability to use whole field. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph during his round of BP. With continued growth and development, we can see this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.
06/20/2021 - All-In Membership - Honolulu, HI
Chaz continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around the ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting/power potential are now solid through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel.
08/11/2019 - College PREP - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI
Chaz is a young and talented SS that will graduate in 2023. At SS, Chaz shows active and effective footwork as he works to the ball showing good range to the glove and backhand sides. Fielding the ball, he presents his glove well and shows soft hands. His exchanges are quick and clean with a short arm action. He gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws that are online with carry. At the plate Chaz sets up tall and slightly open. His stride is short and square as he gets his load with smooth rhythm. He gets his lower half through getting the barrel on plane making hard contact with a gap-to-gap approach. Chaz shows projectability as he has several years to develop and get stronger.
