Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

07/30/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Chris continues to show well on the diamond. At the plate, this strong RHH connects and drives the ball. Barrel delivery is level to and through the zone as he shows pop to all parts of the field. At 1B, Chris works around the ground ball and presents his glove out in front. He has good bag awareness and can pick throws out of the dirt. On the bump, Chris maintains good composure and works in-line toward the dish. He works downhill and keeps the ball down in the zone. He mixes his pitches well and keeps hitters off balance. Chris is a versatile player who works hard on the diamond.

04/13/2014 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Chris is a skilled 2-way player and a 1B/RHP. With the bat, this RH hitter shows a balanced approach with simple actions. He swings on a level path and is short/quick to and through the zone. At 1B, Chris works around the ground ball and into a square fielding position. he shows good bag awareness and moves well to inaccurate throws. On the bump, this RHP works to a controlled balance point and drives off in-line toward the plate. FB ranges from 73-76 mph while breaking ball shows tight break. Extension on his follow through will help to improve effectiveness on both pitches. A solid player - Chris should find success on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
