08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Chris continues to show at a LHP/1B at the event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Defensive abilities have improved as well, now showing solid as he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. He works to get around ground balls and squares up well. Hands are soft /sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup and an aggressive approach. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power grade will improve as he learns to improve his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-75 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with tight spin and gradual break. Stock on the mound will improve as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
