01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Chris is a lean, tall SS/RHP who will graduate in 2019. In the MIF, feet are aggressive as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. Glove action is soft but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently and adds overall body strength. At the plate, he was 3 for 6. On the mound, he shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. Control is tremendous as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He shows good mound composure and competes on the mound. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, a hard worker, and a great team player. With 2 years to further develop, Chris has abilities with time and room to progress his game.
