01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Chris is a 2018, smooth SS that showed glimpses of next level power. At the plate, Chris has excellent body control and balance from his square, quiet stance. He showed a strong lower 1/2 with an explosive swing path that delivered line drives to all parts of the field. Defensively, Chris moves well with good DP/slow roller footwork. He throws with a smooth, accurate arm and good DP feed. Overall, Chris showed well and continues to improve his game each outing. He will see a bright future in this game.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Chris is an athletic SS that also pitches. In the infield he fields out front with soft hands and has the proper fielding position. He has quick feet and showed good range during games. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate throws to his targets. On the mound he is aggressive in the zone attacking hitters with his fastball and change. He is very consistent with both pitches and has a good idea of how to change speeds. He showed good composure on the mound and has an advanced delivery for his age. At the plate, Chris has an athletic setup, smooth load, and good balance. He has a good idea at the plate and showed that he is a gap to gap hitter during games. Should continue to get stronger and with his solid approach, Chris should be a nice option in any lineup for the future.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic Chris is a very athletic two-way player with good size and a projectable frame at multiple positions. Defensively, Chris has a very strong accurate arm with a quick release, stays athletic throughout the fielding process and takes great angles. He will take the next step in his defensive development as he continues to work on his fore and backhand to compliment his plus range. On the mound, Chris is a RHP with good mound presence who pounds the strike zone and varies his locations well. He will improve as a RHP as he extends through his pitches and uses his lower half more to drive towards the plate. At the plate, Chris has serious pop, a good balanced swing, and plus bat speed. He continues to improve his swing path, and keeping as little movement in his head as possible. Chris again is a superb athlete, a multi-sport talent with explosive movements and a hard-nosed work ethic.

04/21/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Chris is a thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Chris has soft hands, active feet, and he fields in a low / square position. He squares up well to the ball, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short / loose arm with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Chris has a free / loose arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and he lands in a square position. Offensively, Chris has a square set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has a level swing, he makes hard contact, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicken release
2. Play through ball
3. Improve range
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Long toss
Offense
1. Stay short
2. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
