01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Chris is a solid player with a good frame that he will continue to grow into and develop. On the mound is where he best projects, showing a loose arm action, a smooth delivery, and a FB touching 89 MPH. He separates on time, works on a downhill plane, and his off-speed shows well. Mound effectiveness can improve by not over-rotating, and not falling off to the 1st base side. At third base, Chris displays excellent backhand range and takes great angles on all ground balls. He works to and through grounders, but has a stiff arm at times on his release and it can be herky/jerky at times. At the plate, Chris has a quiet, simple approach with good bat speed. He is a contact hitter who stays within himself, not trying to do too much. Chris can improve by keeping his front shoulder in more when swinging and utilizing all fields rather than just pull. Chris has a bright future on the mound, and his skill set should generate looks from coaches at the next level.
