Chris is a gamer who gives 100% every day. He is very coachable and is a team oriented player. Foot speed has improved as he now runs his 60 in 7.50. Defensively in the MIF, Chris has quick/active footwork as he hustles around the GB from right to left. He makes the tough plays to his backhand smoothly as he gathers and fires strong/accurate throws across the diamond. Chris is versatile enough to play multiple spots on the INF. Quickening his transfer/exchange on the DP will help to take that next step defensively at 2B. Offensively, Chris shows a balanced/relaxed approach with a solid base. Quick hands whip the barrel on a level path as he squares the ball up consistently. He battles deep into the count and proved to be a tough out. Rodriguez has a solid all-around skill set that will provide success in this his senior year.

Chris continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Defensive grades at 2B have really improved as he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF. He is aggressive playing ground balls while presenting hands well out front with defensive grade continuing to improve as he continues to increase foot quickness. Athletic abilities are shown on his feeds / turns of the double play. Throws are accurate with carry as he works to get rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Chris has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
08/17/2014 - National Tryout - Lebanon (Nashville), TN
Chris continues to show as a 2B/RHP but projects best at 2B for the next level. Foot speed has really improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.66. At 2B, defensive grade has improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he works around and through ground balls. Hands are soft / clean as he presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry into his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path and aggressive approach. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength.

Chris is an outstanding kid that is a plus worker and plays the game hard. He continues to show as a 2B/RHP with abilities and time to continue to develop. In the IF, he displays solid hands and moves well laterally, flashing range in the MIF. He works to get around balls but needs to attack more, play through while presenting hands more out front, and increase foot quickness to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, he loads well and shows quick hands that work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for barrel with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He shows good mound presence with stock rising as he continues to build more arm strength and throw more strikes.
08/25/2013 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN
Chris is a 2-way player as a 2B/RHP who has a solid build. Offensively, this right-handed hitter displays good rhythm and gets back into a strong loaded position. Swing path is short and quick to the ball, resulting in pop to his pull-side. More lower 1/2 drive will help to increase power potential. Defensively at 2B, Chris presents his glove and shows good pre-pitch movements. He gathers well, has a quick/clean exchange and gives good DP feeds. On the bump, this RHP fills up the zone with his 3-pitch mix. He gets to a tall balance point, maintains good tempo and drives off the mound, working in-line toward the dish. FB tops out at 74 mph while CH is best off-speed pitch. As only a 2016 grad, Chris has a bright future in the game.
