Chris continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.12 runner. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight run but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength.

12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD
Chris is a coachable player that worked hard to make several adjustments at the Hitting Accelerated Training event. At the plate, Chris starts in a tall and squared stance. He stays behind the ball and makes hard contact with the barrel. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball will allow him to get consistent extension through contact. Using the lower half will allow his hands to work more freely and drive the ball gap to gap. Continuing to get the front foot down early will allow him to recognize pitches and be aggressive on the fastball. Chris will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Chris is a 1B/LHP who will graduate in 2024. Defensively at 1B, he hustles hard laterally and tries to get square when fielding GB's. He shows good bag awareness and tries to play through the ball towards his target. On the mound, this lefty keeps his eyes locked in and stays directional towards home plate. He delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot and looks to command his pitches for strikes. As a hitter, Chris uses a middle of the field approach. He tracks pitches well into the zone and is a solid contact hitter. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Quick footwork
2. Stay low
3. Clean exchange to throw
