Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Christian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load well. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Christian can improve as a hitter by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. Overall, Christian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

11/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Midland, TX Christian showed very well offensively and defensively, he ran his fastest 60 to date at 7.29 seconds, and exit velocity spiked to 86 MPH. At SS, Christian has fluid/active feet, agile movements, and an athletic fielding position. He has a presentable glove, a clean exchange, and he throws with accuracy and strength across the diamond. On the mound, Christian has a balanced delivery, a square landing position toward home plate, and he throws strikes. Offensively, Christian has an athletic stance, good balance, and a compact stroke. He has fast bat speed, keeps his hands inside the ball, and he can spray to all fields.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Christian is a strong and talented 2022 2B prospect. At 2B, Christian has active pre-pitch movement and is aggressive to the ball. He exchanges the ball in front of his body, he throws from multiple arm angles, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Christian starts in an athletic and open stance. He's aggressive to the ball and makes consistent hard contact. He has a simple load with his hands, rotates his core, and has a middle approach. Christian will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christian is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that is always eager to learn. At SS, Christian makes the routine and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step, present a low/early glove, and work from the ground up. He works hard to the ball but needs to improve his body language if he makes an error. Continuing to build arm strength and improve his first step to the ball will allow him to improve his range and ability to throw the ball from the 5-6 hole. At the plate, Christian starts in a crouched stance, he has a slight load in his hands, and stays balanced through contact. He attacks the inside part of the ball and has a compact swing. He needs to continue to create backside with his lower half and hunt the fastball. On the bump, Christian has good rhythm in his delivery and hides the ball well. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and controls his landing. He throws to both sides of the plate but needs to continue to works downhill and ride his back leg toward the plate. Christian is a hard worker and we hope to see him continue his progress.

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Christian is an athletic 2022 SS/RHP prospect with tremendous upside. At SS, Christian makes the routine plays, he's aggressive on slow rollers, and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Continuing to keep the head down at contact will prevent Christian from pulling off the ball and attacking the inside part of the ball will keep him balanced through contact. On the bump, Christian Gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and rotates toward the catcher. Finishing over the front side and developing his secondary pitches will increase his skill set on the mound. Christian is a coachable and respectful player. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/12/2017 - College PREP - Midland, TX Christian is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the MIF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Hands are soft but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will continue to improve as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point and throws from an over the top arm slot. Fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Changeup shows good arm side run but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Christian has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
