Official Scouting Report

  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

08/18/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Providence, RI Christian is a solid, 2-way player with an athletic frame. At 3rd base, Christian gets in a good ready position, his feet are active, and he makes plays consistently. He has a clean exchange, and throws with a short/accurate arm across the diamond. Arm velocity improved to 80 MPH during the workout. On the mound, this RHP has good balance over the rubber and a loose/clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, competes in the zone, and finishes completely. Offensively, Christian is a strong hitter with fast bat speed and good balance. He has a rhythmic swing, hits line drives, and he uses his lower body well. Christian is a nice prospect!

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christian is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Christian shows efficient footwork and gets into a low position. He fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands and makes a clean exchange, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Christian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing and flashes plus barrel control, leading to gap to gap pop. Christian can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride towards the pitcher. On the mound, Christian starts with a simple rock step and separates his hands on time. He takes a proper stride and keeps his pitches around the zone. Christian shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 69-70mph. Finishing square to the plate can help Christian improve as a pitcher. Overall, Christian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
