Official Scouting Report

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Christian is a solid (6'2"/210) corner infielder who showed well during his time at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. With the bat, this lefty displays a tall/open stance with high hands in his setup. He gets loaded and waits to jump on pitches he likes. Swing is level to and through the zone as he looks to drive the ball back up the middle of the field. At 3B, Schulz works into a square fielding position behind the GB and tracks the ball into his mitt. Transfer/exchange is clean to throw as he works in-line toward his target. This 2019 grad has the tools that should provide success as he enters his senior season.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christian is a talented 2-way player. At 3B, Christian has active pre pitch movement and is aggressive to the ball. He fields the ball in front of his body and has a clean exchange. Working from the ground and reading the pace of the play will increase his skills set at the position. At the plate, Christian starts in an athletic stance and has rhythm in his hands. He backs the ball up and drives the ball to the opposite field well. Loading his hands into the drive position and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to get extension through contact. Getting the front foot down on time and keeping a middle approach will allow him to consistently recognize pitches. Christian is a hard working player and made several adjustments over the week. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
