07/08/2012 - Select Training at the All-Star Game
Servellon continues to show as a MIF/RHP and has potential at both positions. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date but needs to continue to improve through a speed / agility program. At 2B, feet are active as he works to square balls up and presents clean hands. He needs to improve foot speed, play through balls more, and present hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grades. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Christian shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through the zone. He makes consistent contact with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered, flashing gap-to-gap power. At the event, he was 4 for 8 with a 3B and 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained.
