08/07/2016 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Christian continues to improve his game, both offensively and defensively. He displays great speed (7.06 60 time) and wreaks havoc on the base paths. Behind the dish, he presents a big frame and target for pitchers with good tracking ability and stick pitches. He uses his body well to block and gains ground on balls to keep them in front with a clean exchange to throw, leading to lower pop times (2.22 seconds). Setting up lower will give him more time to block and present a low target in the zone for pitchers. At the plate, Christian has an aggressive approach taking big cuts at pitches he's looking for. He has a level path with quick hands through the zone and good feel for the barrel to make hard contact. This is a prospect who should draw the eyes of scouts for the next level.

05/18/2014 - National Tryout - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Christian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a solid player at the next level. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.34 with accuracy on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills have improved and show as quality tools that will play at the next level. At the plate, hitting / power grades have improved, showing slightly above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a short / direct swing path. He shows a solid feel for the barrel with power numbers improving as he learns to let ball travel and use his lower half more.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Christian is a young player who is smart and always competes. Behind the plate, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and has active footwork. He blocks the ball well, doing a good job of centering the ball. Christian has a good grasp on giving signs to the pitcher but can work on softening up his hands while receiving the ball. Also focus on throwing mechanics and footwork, which will create better life/carry on his throws to bases. Although he blocks well, he can continue to work on not giving up too much ground towards the backstop to do so. At the plate, Christian has an open stance and gets his weight loaded. He has a long stride and gets his lower half through the ball creating good bat speed. He's got good rhythm and his level swing and ability to keep his hands inside the baseball allow him to consistently put the ball in play. While his body works well within the swing, he can be more explosive with his lower half which will help maximize power. Overall, Christian is a hard worker who plays the game the right way and is continuing to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
