08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christian continues to show steady progress on the baseball diamond. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an open, athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the MIF, he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive but will benefit by attacking balls and playing through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Christian continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, (80 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat centered as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Defensively, he attacks balls, plays through well, and presents soft / sure hands out front. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy across the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/19/2017 - College PREP - Tyler, TX Christian is a strong-built shortstop prospect who has good potential on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Christian has a square setup with a centered balanced. He has smooth rhythm in his load and maintains direction with his stride. Christian lets the baseball travel and he has an on-plane swing path. He is a selective hitter and has the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. In the field, Christian plays with fluid footwork and agile actions. He takes effective angles laterally and covers good ground. He fields the ball athletically with soft hands. He has a clean exchange leading into a short, loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. Christian has a quick release and shows strong throws across the diamond that stay online. Overall, Christian can play the game and certainly has potential to impact a program at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
