02/04/2017 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO
Chris is a strong, athletic catching prospect with lots of potential and a high ceiling on the field. He is a very advanced hitter with excellent contact ability to go with plus power for his age to make himself a dangerous hitter in any lineup. He is fluid in the box with a strong, balanced setup that allows him to load to a power position and incorporate his lower half. His bat speed is explosive as he works directly to the ball to make consistent, hard contact to drive the ball into the gaps, getting extended through contact. Behind the plate, he has a quiet setup and receives with a firm wrist, working around the ball to keep pitches in the zone. He is very agile with quick feet to collapse and block laterally, keeping everything in front and smothering the ball. Implementing a long toss program will increase arm strength and shave valuable time off his pop times to second. Chris is a very exciting prospect who looks to have a bright future in the game.
