01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Christopher continues to show progress in baseball tools. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lower pop time to date at 2.06 with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He plays with a ton of energy and shows the ability to handle a pitching staff. Glove action is soft/sure and he sticks balls well in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hands works inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with power showing best to the pull side. He has strength in his swing (87 mph exit velocity) with power showing best to the pull side. Christopher has a ton of potential and is a sure player to follow.

02/04/2017 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Chris is a strong, athletic catching prospect with lots of potential and a high ceiling on the field. He is a very advanced hitter with excellent contact ability to go with plus power for his age to make himself a dangerous hitter in any lineup. He is fluid in the box with a strong, balanced setup that allows him to load to a power position and incorporate his lower half. His bat speed is explosive as he works directly to the ball to make consistent, hard contact to drive the ball into the gaps, getting extended through contact. Behind the plate, he has a quiet setup and receives with a firm wrist, working around the ball to keep pitches in the zone. He is very agile with quick feet to collapse and block laterally, keeping everything in front and smothering the ball. Implementing a long toss program will increase arm strength and shave valuable time off his pop times to second. Chris is a very exciting prospect who looks to have a bright future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
