07/01/2013 - College PREP - Erie, PA Chris is a 2-way player as a RHP/OF who has a tall frame. On the bump, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a long/loose arm action. He gets to a tall balance point, keeps his eyes on the target and works downhill/in-line toward the dish. CB shows 11/5 shape and early break. He fills up the zone and works both side of the plate with plus command. A long toss program will help to increase arm strength and increase FB velocity. In the OF, Callari is sure handed and makes the plays. He works to get behind the ball and catch it at its highest point. Working on being lighter on his feet and improving his routes/angles to the ball will help to improve overall abilities in the OF. At the plate, this right-handed hitter displays patience, waiting for his pitch and not swinging at balls out of the zone. He swings on a level path making consistent contact. Hitting abilities will improve with smoother rhythm and more extension through contact. As a rising junior, Chris still has a couple of years to continue working on his game.
