09/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Fresno, CA Christopher is a class of 2022 Catching prospect. He shows off an athletic frame with room to continue his physical development. Behind the plate, he shows off low pop times (2.15) with help from his quick feet and short arm action. Does a good job sitting low in his hips and shows lateral blocking abilities. Receives well and has the ability to steal strikes with his soft and quiet actions. At the plate, he continues to impress starting in an open and relaxed stance. Does a good job activating his lower ½ in his load and continuing to drive with his legs throughout the entirety of his swing. Does a good job getting the barrel out front and getting extension to all parts of the field. Put on an impressive display in BP with exit velos reaching 88 MPH. Shows current gap-to-gap power with more projected in the future. Christopher is a talented prospect both behind the dish and at the plate.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Christopher is a strong (6'2"/180) R/R catcher who can make things happen in a variety of ways. Defensively, he sits in well with a athletic actions and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. Quick lateral actions allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt to his right and left off of his chest. Transfer is smooth from glove to hand as he puts throws on the bag - pop times now at 2.25. As a hitter, this righty starts open with rhythm to load. He jumps on pitches he likes, barreling the ball up and connecting with some pop. Cecchini is a solid all-around catching prospect who (2022 grad) will find success in this only his junior season.

02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Chris is a young and talented catcher that continues to improve his game. Behind the plate, Chris shows an effective and athletic primary stance presenting a strong target. His exchanges to 2B are quick and clean as he gets rid of the ball improving his arm strength, now up to 82 MPH. His throws are accurate and online as he throws down. Blocking, Chris shows agile range to keep the ball in front creating good angles. Chris sets up at the plate with a square stance taking a short stride keeping his weight centered. He rotates against a firm front side creating hard contact especially to the pull side. Chris continues to work hard and make improvements at the plate and in the field.

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christopher is an athletic and talented 2022 Catching prospect that did a great job managing the games he caught. He shows leadership skills and has a high baseball IQ. He has an athletic stance, presents a low/early glove, and works behind the ball. He leads with his glove, controls balls with his chest, and anticipates the ball in the dirt. Improving his footwork will improve his exchange, and quicken his release. At the plate, Christopher starts in athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps the barrel on plane to the ball. He has good rhythm in his hands, he creates backside drive with his lower half, and drives the ball gap to gap. Continuing to get his foot down on time and keeping a quiet head will improve his pitch recognition. Christopher will improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
