10/01/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Trenton, NJ Christopher continues to progress on the diamond. He has quiet actions behind the plate, good footwork, and a staggered set-up. He has a quick exchange, and pop times remain in the low 2's to 2nd base. At 3B, Christopher showed good energy, solid pre-pitch actions, and athletic actions when fielding the ball. Offensively, this righty is a strong hitter who swings in good rhythm, and has a direct barrel to the ball. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered as he drives it to all parts of the field (exit velocity = 90 mph). A 2019 grad, Conti has skills and should find success in this his junior year.

10/05/2016 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Christopher continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows good barrel accuracy with power showing best to the pull side. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Throws display accuracy with pop times improving as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking tools show as playable tools as he continues to develop and get more reps. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable wanting to be the best player he can be. He is a great teammate who plays with high energy.

07/06/2016 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Christopher is a strong, young prospect who projects well. He has quick footwork with good lateral movement and shows very solid blocking techniques, keeping the ball in front. He also has a strong and accurate arm to throw out base stealers. Christopher is a solid prospect who has the tools that will make an impact.

07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Christopher showed consistent actions on all sides of the baseball at the Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City. Defensively, he received out in front and had a tough catcher mentality, necessary for the position. He worked with a lot of energy and communicated with the pitchers. In drill work he became a stronger blocker, tucking his chin in and deadening the ball more consistently. He also worked to clean up his transfer and quicken his release to throw. Offensively, he took hacks in the box and competed in his AB's. He worked to get better in the cage and began driving more with his lower half to use his hands and hips together for added pop. All in all - Christopher was a leader on his team, and an awesome kid with the mentality to improve and take his game to the next level.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Christopher is an athletic and versatile catcher that also showcased on the mound. Behind the plate he has quick feet, receives with soft hands, and stays low with his setup. He showed the proper blocking technique and he moves well laterally. He has a quick exchange and made accurate throws to 2B with good carry. At the plate he has a closed stance, good balance, and a nice rhythm. He has explosive bat speed and uses his lower half well. He has gap to gap power and should fit nicely in the middle of any lineup as he advances to the next level. On the mound he works quick and pounds the zone with his fastball and curveball. He has a fluid arm action and gets good extension on his pitches. With his athleticism and leadership skills, Chris should continue to improve his game and make a nice transition to the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
