Official Scouting Report

  • OFPosition Projection

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Christopher is a 5'9/170 lbs OF that showed his best ability offensively at the Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona. At the plate, he collected 4 singles and a walk in 6 plate appearances. He worked in the cages on getting his body to a good position to hit with more hand activation, and implemented more of a two-hand finish for added extension. In the OF, he worked to make plays with decent body control and followed his throws. He started to work his feet pre-pitch, allowing him to increase his range as the week went on. Overall - Christopher has a lean frame to continue adding baseball strength to, and has the work ethic necessary to improve his game.

09/13/2015 - College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Christopher is an athletic OF that will graduate in 2017. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.35 60 time. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls, displaying clean hands. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup with balance. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. With 2 years to further develop, Christopher has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
