09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Christopher continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes good first steps in reading balls off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. At the plate he continues shine through an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Christopher is an athletic 2-way prospect that was eager to learn and is a team player. In the OF, Christopher starts in an athletic stance and is on time with his prep step. He has a good first step to the ball, he creates good angles, and he works behind the ball. He has good footwork and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Christopher starts in a closed stance, he has a simple load, and gets his front foot down on time. He creates backside rotation, he has a level swing path, and he looks to drive the ball gap to gap. On the bump, Christopher works fast and tries to pound his fastball down in the zone. He gathers in the rubber, he separates on time, and he has a clean arm action. Christopher has tremendous upside in the OF and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/27/2019 - College PREP - Joplin, MO Christopher is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. In the OF, Christopher is on time with his prep step, he creates good angles to the ball, and plays through ground balls. He has a good first step to the ball in the gaps and makes accurate throws to the plate. At the plate, Christopher starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets to balance at contact. He has quick hands, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and is a line drive hitter that looks to hit the ball to all fields. On the bump, Christopher gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He works north to south and repeats his delivery. He throws his fastball for strikes, he has medium break on his curveball, and has fastball arm speed on his changeup. Christopher will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/16/2018 - College PREP - Parkville (Kansas City), MO Christopher is a lean, wiry OF/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 65-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Christopher has potential with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
