02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Gainesville, FL Christopher worked out behind the plate and in the OF during his last workout. He increased arm strength and exit velocity to 65 MPH. Behind the dish, Christopher covers ground, he keeps the ball in front, and works around it well. He looks the ball in, deadens it softly, and throws with a quick/accurate arm to 2nd base. Pop times also lowered to 2.66 seconds at the workout. In the OF, Christopher has active feet, he attacks the ball aggressively, and his hands are sure. He has good footwork to the ball, and an accurate arm to the cut off man. Offensively, this RHH has an athletic stance, quick hands, and he loads well. He has a short/consistent barrel and he uses his lower body well.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Christopher is a coachable 2B/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Fall Classic at Pirate City. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Christopher improve as a 2B. Behind the plate, Christopher presents a good target to the pitcher and receives with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. He is smooth moving to block and covers up well. Christopher can improve as a C by getting into his secondary stance sooner. At the pale, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid line drives. Continuing to add strength can help Christopher improve as a hitter. Overall, Christopher is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
