07/17/2018 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ
Christopher showed nice abilities at the plate and in the OF during his last workout in Trenton. Hitting grades improved to 40's, showing an open/athletic set-up, quick hands, and a direct barrel to the ball. He swings on plane and can hit to all fields. Christopher will need to work on timing and lower body in order to hitting to improve. In the OF, Christopher has active feet, he works behind the ball well, and he fields athletically. He stays behind, plays through, and throws with accuracy and momentum toward his target. A quicker release and added arm strength can help defense improve.
07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14)
Christopher continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he has improved the most through a tall setup. Hands are quick (76 mph exit velocity) and work through a level path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, defensive grade has improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and communicates well. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Christopher has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.
12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2
Christopher made several nice plays at second base over the week and had excellent dirt ball reads on the bases. Defensively, Christopher needs to continue to work on his pre pitch movement, reading balls off the bat, working behind the ball and getting into a strong throwing position. At the plate, Christopher gets into an athletic stance and attacks the inside part of the ball. Using the lower half will increase his ability to get extension through the ball. On the mound, Christopher stays over the rubber, has a good finish, and is very competitive. Repeating his delivery, separating on time, and having a longer stride will increase his ability to throw strikes. Christopher works hard and continues to improve with experience.
