06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South
Christopher continues to show a big upside on the bump. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB jumps out of his hand and shows some sinking action - 91 mph. Changeup is outstanding as he throws it with smooth FB arm speed - helping to create deception. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late / sharp break. He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. Don't be surprised to hear this young man's name called in next year's MLB draft.

Chris is a young, 2-way player with a short, thin frame. At SS, Chris is aggressive to the ball, his hands are soft and sure, and he fields the ball out in front of his body. He has athletic actions, good lateral movements, and he flashes a good backhand. Chris has a quick / clean exchange, and he throws with a long / loose arm with carry and good accuracy to his target. On the mound, Chris has a compact delivery, a loose arm, and a controlled balance point. He tucks his glove properly, he keeps his eyes to his target, and he is around the plate with his pitches. Offensively, Chris has a tall / square set-up, a proper load, and a short / square stride. His grip is loose, he has good balance, and his swing is level. Chris makes good contact, he can spray the ball to all fields, and he makes good use of his lower 1/2. Chris is a good, young player, and he can get better with work on the following.
Pitching
1. More finish / extension
2. Quicken tempo
3. Use more lower 1/2
Defense
1. Play lower to the ground
2. Keep feet moving
3. Strengthen arm
Offense
1. Let ball travel
2. Timing / Rhythm
3. Stay short to ball
