Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Christopher is a competitive OF/RHP prospect who has a talented skill set. Offensively, Christopher has a square, athletic setup with his weight in the front of his stance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride as his lower half leads his swing. Christopher has an on-plane swing path and is developing bat speed. He effective uses his strength and gets good leverage in his swing. Christopher has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Christopher plays effective footwork and covers good ground. He presents his glove and stays behind the baseball as he fields it in a square position. Christopher has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with good strength. On the mound, Christopher works with good tempo and has a projectable frame. He has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action and extends through his release. Christopher stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. He does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. His fastball has cut movement and he commands his curveball with medium break. Overall, Christopher is a well-rounded prospect who has a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
