11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Christopher continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78mph. He shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters throwing strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall / athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he competes on the field, is very coachable, and is a hard worker.

08/28/2016 - College PREP - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Christopher is an athletic 6'2 RHP graduating in 2017. On the mound, Christopher throws from a high 3/4 slot with a clean arm action and above average delivery. He is on time throughout his motion and maintains direction toward home plate. Christopher gains extension and has the proper stride length while rotating with his hips to generate power. Christopher's FB showed cut and was complimented by a 10-4 breaking curveball and a deceptive changeup mimicking his FB's arm speed. Offensively, Christopher has a square setup with a firm front side and takes an open stride. He takes a good load and can benefit from more fluid rhythm and a more direct bat path. Christopher makes square contact and shows pop to the pull side. Overall, Christopher has a projectable frame with solid mechanics to develop into an interesting prospect for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
