01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Christopher showed extremely well at the event both defensively at shortstop and at the plate as a left handed hitter. At short, Christian has good rhythm, fielding the ball out front. He is light on his feet, fields the ball in an athletic / low stance, and has a silky smooth transfer. Making the throws across the diamond is not an issue for Christian, as he has great life in his arm, with carry on all of his throws. Christopher can improve defensively by having more pre-pitch movement. He tended to sit back at times and may rush things if there is a fast runner. Also, although Christopher has good foot quickness, he can work to improve his 60 time which will only improve his stock. At the plate, Christopher shows a balanced approach with good bat speed as he attacks the ball in the strike zone. He has good rhythm and is loose at the plate, showing a lot of confidence. He had 3 base hits in 5 official plate appearances, and has a knack of getting on by walk as well. Areas he can improve include using more of the field and not having such a narrow stride. Christopher is an excellent player and will undoubtedly get several looks from coaches at the next level.
