11/03/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Chris is an athletic and talented pitching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend. On the bump, Chris throws from a three-quarter arm slot, he has a loose arm action, and he repeats his delivery. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and finds a balance point. Chris needs to continue to ride his back leg toward the plate, and control his landing. Working north to south and rotating his hips toward the plate will help him extend thru his delivery. He throws his fastball for strikes but developing a secondary pitch, such as a changeup, will improve his ability to attack hitters. Chris is a hard worker and will continue to improve with experience.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Christopher is a tough, coachable player who plays hard and works to improve. He is a steady defender at third who makes tough plays and keeps the ball in front. Feet work efficient to cover plenty of ground to make plays. He gets low to field with presented hands and has a clean exchange to make accurate throws. Head stays still through his swing with pitch recognition to not expand the zone. He works on a level path to make consistent contact to all fields. On the hill, he shows a FB/CH mix with a clean arm stroke and efficient mechanics. There is good separation between his pitches to keep hitters off balance. A long toss program will improve arm strength and velocity. We definitely want to keep an eye on Christopher.

12/28/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Christopher showed some improvements in his game during his last workout. On the mound, Christopher has good balance, a clean arm action, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He separates on time and is in the zone with his pitches. At 3B, Christopher has active feet, an aggressive approach to the ball, and he fields athletically. He takes solid angles and throws with accuracy from a quick arm action. Offensively, Christopher is an aggressive hitter with good balance and a rhythmic swing. He has a level stroke and makes hard contact. Christopher can continue to improve by working on the following.

Pitching
1. Finish
2. Landing
3. Arm strength
Infield
1. Raise arm slot
2. Arm strength
3. Play more through ball
Offense
1. More lower 1/2
2. Stay closed
3. Shorten swing

04/23/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Christopher is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. At 3B, he presents his hands as he works into a low/square fielding position. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this RHP has solid mechanics and is a strike thrower. He delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. At the plate, Christopher displays an athletic setup and keeps his hands back. He consistently finds his barrel as he drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Play low
2. Develop soft hands
3. Quicker exchange
Pitching
1. Develop CH
2. Arm strength (long toss)
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Improve bat speed
2. Develop more power

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
