04/24/2016 - College PREP - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Christopher continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 73-77 mph with sinking action. He shows good deception with his fastball. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with slight break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Getting on a long toss program will aid in further development on mound.

12/27/2015 - College PREP - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Christopher is a RHP who has a 3-pitch mix. On the mound, this righty works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. He keeps his eyes on the target, stays directional and repeats his delivery well. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual action. CH has slight tail as he works to keep it down in the zone. Driving off of the rubber more with his lower 1/2 and finishing with more extension will help to improve his effectiveness on all pitches. With the bat, Christopher shows a balanced setup with fluid rhythm in his hands. He takes a hack at pitches he likes and drives the ball with some pop when centered. Getting more hand separation on his load along with swinging on a more level path will help to increase contact consistency and power. Christopher has skills with still time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
