02/13/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA CJ Clayton is a 2025 C/RHP. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, receives the ball out front and shows a clean transfer, longer arm action through the back but shows accuracy down to second base. Right-handed pitcher, who works exclusively from the stretch. High ¾ arm slot who works down the mound with some drop and drive. 3 pitch pitcher who filled the zone well. Showed a 9/3 shaped curveball. Hits from the right side; stays short to the ball and shows fluidity to path. Strong swing, with an exit velocity of 88mph, who showed ability to make hard and consistent contact to the pull side. Has a bright future at the next level with continued development and growth.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
