03/09/2013 - College PREP - Kenosha, WI Clay is an athletic catcher with broad shoulders. Behind the plate, Clay sits in athletically, his footwork is efficient, and he covers ground well. He gains ground, his exchange is clean, and he throws with some carry to his target from a short arm action. More quiet actions, an earlier target, and added arm strength will improve catching skills. Offensively, Clay has an open set-up, a square stride, and solid balance. He has fast bat speed, makes square contact, and he swings in good rhythm. Hitting can improve if Clay can tap into more lower 1/2 and let the ball travel deeper.
