Behind the plate, he makes efficient lateral movements, presents a good low target, and has quick feet when getting in a throwing position. His abilities behind the plate should continue to develop as he learns to get his footwork inline to his target and gets a feel to funnel his transfer his throwing arm. In the infield, he has natural actions and plus range with the ability to make accurate throws around the infield. His defensive abilities should continue to improve as he learns to utilize his lower half when throwing. At the plate, he has an athletic setup and quick hands that allow him to hit the ball well to all fields. His offensive tools should continue to improve as he learns to create a consistent load. As a 2014 graduate, Clayton has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.
