11/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Clayton continues shine in his baseball abilities. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean presents more out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/17/2022 - Baseball Factory Los Angeles All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Clayton continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the All-Star Classic. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Clayton is a 1B that graduates in 2023 who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Select Training and Competition. In the field, he starts in an athletic position and has efficient/smooth footwork. Good 1st steps enable him to create good angles to both sides of his body. Fields from an athletic/low fielding position with hands front and his eyes behind the glove. Quick exchange with the ability to get rid of the ball. A short arm action and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He had good accuracy on his throws with an arm velocity up to 71mph. A weight training program to improve flexibility and overall strength will help him in all aspects of his game. A right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and open stance with high hands. He gets his separated and has on-time rhythm to his stride. Hit hard line drives to the pull side with a bat exit velocity as high as 80mph. Reached base multiple times including a triple, a single, and a base on balls. With plenty of time for continued growth and development, we expect to see Clayton make huge strides on the baseball field.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Clayton continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Clayton continues to work hard on his skills and did so again at the Select Training & Competition event in Arizona. At 3B, he gets good reads off of the bat and displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork and works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall/open setup. He has good strike zone awareness and doesn't swing at much that he cannot square up. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach (exit velocity now at 80 mph). Power will continue to increase as he engages and drives his lower more throughout the swing. He battles at the plate going 4 for 10 with 4 singles and a walk. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/17/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS) Clayton continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the corner in the IF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At 1B, he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Clayton is a young and tall 1B/3B that will graduate in 2023. At 1B, Clayton shows a relaxed ready position and shows agile range getting to the ball especially to the glove side. He fields the ball square and out front presenting a sure glove. His exchanges are clean as he works to throw creating momentum towards his target getting rid of the ball with a loose and quick arm action. Being more aggressive to the ball so he can take his time making the play will allow Clayton to become a more consistent fielder. At the dish, Clayton shows a slightly open stance with a high hand slot. His stride is short and square as he starts his swing getting the barrel on plane. His rhythm is smooth as he rotates his core showing a solid line drive approach. Getting more load and rhythm will allow Clayton to become a more powerful hitter. Overall, Clayton has a big frame for a young player and has several years to develop his skills for the next level.

07/05/2019 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Clayton is an athletic and talented 2023 utility player that brings high energy to the field everyday. At the hot corner, Clayton presents a low/early glove, he has efficient footwork on ground balls, and has soft hands. He has a clean exchange and quick release. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and improve his first step quickness to the ball. At the plate, Clayton has good rhythm in his load and gets his front foot down on time. He attacks the inside part of the ball, keeps the barrel on plane, and looks to drive the ball to all fields. Continuing to create backside drive with the lower half will free up his hands and create more power in the swing. Clayton plays the game hard and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Clayton is a coachable 1B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, Clayton fields in a square position and makes accurate throws to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Clayton improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with his hands held low. He rotates his core well and works to barrel up the baseball. Clayton can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Clayton has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Clayton is an athletic 1B/2B that showed improvement in all aspects of his game. His 60-time improved dramatically from a 9.41 to an 8.79 and his home-to-first time improved from a 5.67 to a 5.21. At 1B, Clayton continues to show good footwork and efficient feet that allow him to make difficult plays. He gets into a low fielding position, picking balls in the dirt well. Clayton throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and makes accurate throws to his targets. Clayton improved raw velocity since past events by jumping from 52mph to 57mph. Clayton can improve defensively by presenting his glove out front and working on making cleaner exchanges into throws. At the plate, Clayton continues to show an athletic, open set up with a short stride. Balance is center as he does a good job of using his lower half and barreling the ball consistently. Clayton improved his exit velocity from 59mph, in past events, to 63mph. Clayton can improve offensively by eliminating excess movement and staying short to the ball. At the event, Clayton shows good intangibles by being coachable and hustling everywhere on the field.

11/16/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Clayton is a tall and athletic 1B prospect. He was a grinder all weekend at Pirate City, and made several adjustments to improve his game. At 1B, Clayton has active pre pitch movement, and is aggressive to the ball. He has a clean exchange, gets into a good throwing position and did a good job picking the ball. Working from the ground up will allow Clayton to continue to have success fielding his position. At the plate, Clayton starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back, and goes knee to knee. Continuing to have a simple stance, and getting his stride foot down on time will keep him balanced through contact. Attacking the inside part of the ball will keep his swing path short and direct. Clayton was very respectful to his coaches and teammates. This player will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Fresno, CA Clayton is a (2022-grad) as a 1B/OF. Defensively at 1B, he takes aggressive cuts/angles to the GB. He moves well laterally and fires the ball on-line to his target. In the OF, he hustles hard as he tracks down fly balls. He tries to work behind the fly ball and makes aggressive throws to his target. With the stick, Clayton is a contact hitter. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
