06/05/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Coby is an athletic 3B prospect who has tremendous upside on the diamond. In the field, Coby shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, allowing him to show off his arm strength (97mph arm velo). At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a square setup. He is smooth getting back into his load and gets his hands to the ball quickly, leading to great raw power. Overall, Coby is a talented prospect who will be among the top players in his class.

09/15/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Coby brings an awful lot to the prospect table: 6'5"/205-pound frame, 98 mph exit velocity, 6.81 60 time, 88 mph arm strength and the ability to put all these tools to good use in games. At the UA BF Futures event, Coby showed excellent acceleration of the barrel through contact, driving balls in batting practice with most of his loft power showing from left field to the line. During the game he showed good discipline and the ability to compete throughout his at bats. Coby also looked good defensively thanks to sure hands, a clean exchange and a strong, accurate arm to finish plays across the diamond. The athleticism and tools are already present with more strength to come on Coby's big frame. This is a 3B prospect that will garner lots of attention over the next few years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
