01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cody is an athletic and talented 2021 OF prospect. In the OF, Cody is on time with his pre-step, he anticipates the ball off the bat, and back up the bases well. He works behind the ball and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to the plate. At the plate, Cody starts in a tall and open stance. He gets his front foot down on time, creates backside drive with his lower half, and shows pull side pop. In game, he went 1-6 with a pull side approach. Cody will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/22/2018 - College PREP - Reno, NV Cody is an athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with gap-to-gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Cody has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
