01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cody is an athletic OF prospect who continued to showcase his skills during the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Cody shows efficient footwork and works through the ball well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground on his throws, keeping them accurate through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and great pull side pop. Overall, Cody is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/17/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Cody is an athletic and talented 2021 OF prospect that runs the bases well. In the OF, Cody is on time with his prep step, he reads the ball off the bat, and has efficient routes to the ball. He has good foot speed and works behind fly balls well. He needs to continue to present a low/early glove and stay down on ground balls. At the plate, Cody starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and is aggressive to the ball. He has a middle approach and creates backside rotation with his lower half. He needs to continue to keep his hands closer to his body at the start and keep a direct bat path to the ball in order to keep the barrel inside the ball. Cody made several adjustments throughout the week and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/18/2019 - National Tryout - Brentwood (Long Island), NY Cody continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.97. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick / explosive (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/20/2017 - National Tryout - Bridgeport, CT Cody is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Cody shows active footwork and is very agile moving to the ball. He has a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistently accurate to his target. Cody can improve defensively by fielding ground balls in a lower position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance an takes a square stride. He takes a short swing and makes solid contact. Cody can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Cody has the time and potential to further progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
