01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cody is a senior backstop with a good baseball frame - 6'/180 lbs. Defensively, he showed his best pop to date (in game) at 2.05 seconds, and showed consistency in the 2.1 range. Cody sat well with ready hands and sure receiving ability. He was quick to block & recover and was accurate to throw. Offensively, he showed a quiet approach, tracking ability and direct barrel. He keeps his hands inside at contact and drives through with good extension. In all - Cody projects as a catcher at the next level with consistency on both sides of the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
